How soon can I walk on the floors after polishing?
Light foot traffic is generally possible after 24 hours for water-based finishes and 48 to 72 hours for oil-based finishes. Furniture should wait at least 5 to 7 days to allow the coating to fully cure and harden.
Will sanding create a lot of dust?
We use dust-minimising sanding equipment on every job, which significantly reduces airborne dust compared to older methods. We take care to protect adjacent areas and clean up thoroughly before we leave.
Can badly damaged floors be saved, or do they need replacing?
In most cases, yes – even significantly damaged floors can be restored rather than replaced. Our timber floor repair services include individual board replacement, crack and gap filling, and structural remediation before sanding begins. Replacement is rarely the only answer.
